About us

Each HR Relationship Manager is a dedicated point of contact for specific Hospital Directorates and Corporate Departments. 

The staff team is responsible for the development and implementation of HR policies, ensuring that staff contractual entitlements are administered and recorded appropriately in line with hospital policies, procedures and legal requirements. 

Superannuation / Pensions

About us

The team is responsible for:

  • The administration of various superannuation and pension schemes.
  • Offering an advisory service for current & retired staff members on their superannuation entitlements.
  • Implementing ongoing legislative changes to the superannuation code.
  • Coordinating the transfer of pension service.
  • Supporting staff in pre-retirement planning.
  • Providing retirement estimates and calculating retirement pension and lump sum benefits at retirement.

The Human Resources Directorate is responsible for the delivery of a suite of integrated policies and practices for the purpose of enabling the Hospital to achieve its strategic and operational objectives through its people, supporting the delivery of optimal health services.

Mark Jacob

Mark has over 30 years of experience in financial services working in the auditing, banking, leasing and asset finance areas and holding CEO, CFO and Board positions in a number of companies. He started his career as an engineer in the Oil and Gas sector, and later qualified as a chartered accountant working within the audit department with PwC. Mark was Managing Director of DZ Bank Ireland plc for 17 years, a banking subsidiary of the German DZ Bank Group, operating within Capital Markets, having also served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Risk Officer of the company.  

Vanessa Kelleher, Manager & Director of Nursing, St. Joseph's Hospital

Vanessa is a dedicated and experienced nurse with a strong background in Emergency Nursing, Gerontology Outreach and Healthcare Leadership. With a career rooted in compassionate, patient-centred care, she has served in several pivotal roles, including as Beaumont Hospital Site Manager where she oversaw hospital operations out of hours. Her most recent post in Gerontology Outreach reflects a deep commitment to improving the quality of life for older adults.

John Pepper, Interim Director of HR

John joined Beaumont Hospital in 2019 as Employee Relations Manager and subsequently took up the role of Deputy Director of Human Resources. He has been Interim Director of Human Resources since April 2023 and is responsible for leading a team of highly skilled HR professionals who support staff across the career pathway, enabling the Hospital to achieve its strategic and operational objectives.

The purpose of our research ethics committee is to protect patients and staff involved in research studies and to ensure quality and value to the wider community of all research conducted at the hospital.

All clinical research conducted in Beaumont Hospital should be submitted for review by the committee to ensure that it is in compliance with the Declaration of Helsinki, Irish law and European Union (E.U.) law.
