The Library supports the teaching, learning and research activities of Beaumont Hospital and RCSI. Library membership is open to Beaumont Hospital staff and RCSI staff and students. Study facilities include 130 quiet study desks, printers, and access to RCSI and Beaumont Hospital computers.

The pathology laboratory provides local, regional and national diagnostic services in all laboratory medicine disciplines to help in the diagnosis of illnesses and the monitoring of the treatment of those illnesses. Laboratory investigations are performed and the results of laboratory tests are made available to patients through their clinicians or GPs.

The Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Team advises and supports the staff of Beaumont Hospital, St Joseph’s Hospital and Raheny Community Nursing Unit to provide safe care to patients, with the goal of reducing the risk of hospital-acquired infections. The IPC Team follows national standards, using evidence-based practice and guidelines, and maintains links with the community structure.

The Facilities & Estate Management Department, also known as TSD, manages and maintains the buildings, equipment, and systems that support the daily operations of the hospital on a site comprising approx 90,000 SqM of built stock. The team play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the facilities which make up the campus built environment. The department’s key focus is to ensure hospital building services that are fundamental to the delivery of clinical care continue to be available when and as required.

Information delivery is crucial to health professionals and patients for the delivery of their care. The ICT Department in Beaumont Hospital provide a range of ICT services to support and enable patient care.

The hospital has a statutory duty to ensure a plan is in place in accordance with the National Framework for Emergency Management. The purpose of the Major Incident Plan is to set out the procedures that will enable effective and co-ordinated planning and response in the event of a major emergency being declared resulting in a large number of casualties attending the hospital. The Internal Incident Plan covers a wide range of Internal Incidents which have the potential to disrupt the normal function of the hospital.

The Finance Department is dedicated to ensuring the financial health and stability of Beaumont Hospital. We oversee and manage all aspects of finance budgeting and reporting, account payable and Accounts receivable where patients pay hospital bills.
