The Immunology Department provides Clinical and Laboratory Services. We are keen to assist with the development of guidelines for investigation of potential immunological disorders, clinical audit and educational activities. The laboratory provides a large range of investigations for autoimmune and allergic disorders. The repertoire of investigations for possible immunodeficiency is being developed and expanded.
The main Immunology out-patients clinic is held in Clinic A on Monday mornings. A smaller allergy clinic is held in Clinic F on Thursday afternoons. There are multiple additional physical and virtual clinics held in the department.
The Immunology Laboratory is an INAB accredited laboratory, see www.inab.ie for full scope of accreditation.
The Beaumont Hospital Laboratory User Guides provides information on the tests provided within the Department, sample types, reference ranges and expected turnaround times. Guidance on appropriate ordering and relevant extra clinical information is available in the Referral Information and Patient Information section.
Referrals are accepted from hospital teams and GPs. Self-referrals from patients cannot be accepted. Appropriate referrals include:
