Home Therapies for dialysis patients

If you choose to perform dialysis at home, you have two options – Home haemodialysis (HHD) or Peritoneal Dialysis (PD). These options allow you to manage your condition and enhance your independence and quality of life at home. Using dialysis home therapies avoids the need for constant visits to the hospital dialysis unit and we strive to offer this treatment at home as much as possible.

Our Home Therapies team in conjunction with your medical team will help you make the right choice of dialysis therapy for your condition and prepare and train you on the use of the dialysis machines at home and support you with our home visits.  The team offer nutritional, mental health, and community resources for holistic care while you are undergoing your dialysis treatment.

The home therapies unit is located in the Dialysis therapies centre (DTC) and are open from Monday to Friday 7:30 – 20:00 and Saturday and Sunday (by appointment only) The unit can be contacted at +353 1 852 8152 (PD) or +353 1 852 8363 (HHD) or by email at  homedialysis@beaumont.ie (for queries and referrals)
