The Urology Department provides a wide range of services for all patients with cancerous and non-cancerous problems of the genitourinary tract, i.e. kidneys, bladder, prostate, testes and penis.
As part of the service we provide a rapid access prostate clinic for patients which provides for an early appointment with same day review and access to diagnostic tests as required for patients.
Nephrology is a branch of medicine that deals with disorders and diseases of the kidney. Our department is staffed by a team of doctors, nurses and dieticians, providing a specialist service for our patients. We diagnose and treat patients with many different kidney conditions including:
For people living with end stage kidney disease, successful kidney transplantation provides many benefits-it significantly increases life expectancy, and provides substantial improvements in overall health and quality of life. The National Kidney Transplant Service (NKTS), co-ordinated through Beaumont Hospital is committed to delivering a world-class kidney transplant service to the citizens of Ireland. Testament to this, a remarkable 2,783 people are currently living with and benefiting from a functioning kidney transplant. In early 2024 the NKTS passed the significant milestone of our 6000th kidney transplant.
