Dr. Nadeem Iqbal graduated from Ayub Medical College, Abbottabad, Pakistan in 2001. He took higher specialist training in Gastroenterology & Hepatology in various prestigious institutes of Republic of Ireland including University College Hospital Galway, St. James’s Hospital, Beaumont Hospital, Tallaght University Hospital and Mater University Hospital.
He completed a diploma in Postgraduate Medical Science and Statistics from NUI Galway. He successfully completed European Board of Gastroenterology and Hepatology and also obtained Specialty Certificate in Gastroenterology from UK. Following completion of his higher specialist training in Gastroenterology in Ireland, he undertook I year intense fellowships in advanced therapeutic endoscopy from University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. He then joined Shifa International Hospital, Islamabad, Pakistan as consultant Gastroenterologist & Hepatologist and Therapeutic Endoscopist in July 2018.
He was awarded as Fellow of European Section & Board of Gastroenterology and Hepatology (FESBGH) in 2020.
He finally joined Beaumont Hospital as a consultant Gastroenterologist and Therapeutic endoscopist in March 2022. He was recently promoted as honorary clinical senior lecturer, RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences in 2024.
Dr. Iqbal is trained in all aspects of general gastroenterology , but his special interests include polypectomy, endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), endoscopic treatment for Barrett oesophagus, diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), ERCP, and hepatobiliary disease.
