The Quality and Standards Department supports a systemic approach to the delivery of safe, effective and person centred care in the hospital. The department works with all hospital directorates and departments to achieve compliance with healthcare standards, clinical guidelines, policies and procedures. The aim is to continually improve the way we deliver care and enhance the environment in which our staff work.
About us
The Quality and Standards Department assists, provides guidance and ongoing advice to directorates and departments in identifying areas for improvement, and leads, drives and supports quality improvement initiatives.
Provides advice and guidance to ensure compliance with healthcare standards
Leads, support and participate in quality improvement initiatives
Co-ordinates and develop quality improvement plans for the National Inpatient Experience Survey promoting a person centred approach to care
Provides training, education on quality, quality improvement and risk registers
Plans for, co-ordinate and assist in planned and unplanned regulatory inspections.
Ensures there is robust policy and procedure development and document control
