About Us

Michael's Detoxification Unit is a specialist inpatient facility providing safe, structured care for individuals undergoing withdrawal from drugs and alcohol. The primary goal is to medically manage withdrawal symptoms, ensure safety and lay the foundation for further treatment and recovery. 

The ward operates under the supervision of Consultant Psychiatrist in addictions Professor Fiona Fenton, who has responsibility for patient care plans, medical oversight, and complex case management.

Beaumont Hospital Announces Successful Launch of Hospital-Wide New ICT System

Beaumont Hospital is pleased to announce the successful launch of Project Coral (iPM and Orbis systems), which went live over the weekend of September 13th. The project represents one of the most significant system upgrades in the hospital’s history, and was designed to modernise operations, enhance patient care and strengthen future readiness. The project launch marks the culmination of a three-year transformation program, replacing a 35-year-old legacy system. The support for the new systems is evidenced by the more than 3,000 staff who were trained in preparation for the transition.
