The OECI Peer Review Team visited Beaumont RCSI Cancer Centre recently as part of our cancer accreditation journey. The purpose of this visit was to validate the information submitted through our self-assessment process. The review team conducted interviews, visited a number of areas across the Cancer Centre and spoke to many staff and patients over the two days. While the final accreditation report will not be available for a number of weeks there were a number of strengths and opportunities identified. The team commented on how well organised their visit was and how welcoming and friendly all staff were. They commented specifically on the following: O The strong collaboration spirit among our teams O How fair, open and enthusiastic staff were during interviews O The commitment to cancer centre development at all levels of the organisation O The professional and committed staff who work across the Cancer Centre O Our awareness of the areas for improvement in the cancer centre and our work to date We are now a step further on the journey to becoming an OECI accredited Cancer Centre.
