Patient comfort measures during COVID-19 outbreak

Tuesday April 21, 2020

Beaumont Hospital are continuing to work around the clock to deal with the Covid19/Coronavirus and every effort is being made to manage and control the spread of the virus. We will continue to care for those infected, and to protect and care for other patients in the Hospital as we always do. We appreciate that this is a difficult time for patients and their families. We have put in place a Patient Care Package which we hope will go some way to making our patients day a little easier to bear without visitors.

You are welcome to drop in clean clothes, toiletries, reading material and non-perishable food items and maybe even a letter for your loved one at the main reception desk between 12pm and 7pm each day and these will be delivered to the ward.

There is WiFi available in all wards and we are encouraging patients who have smart phones to keep in touch with their relatives using apps such as WhatsApp and Facetime.   We are also supporting patients who do not have access to a smart phone or are too frail or ill to use such technology to stay in touch with their relatives through video calls.   To make arrangements for this please email patientcomms@beaumont.ie, giving  the name of your relative and the ward they are on, together with the name, email address and telephone number of a designated family member to arrange the call with.  The email will be monitored up to 12 md, Monday – Friday and very effort will be made to facilitate your call within 24 hours of receipt of your email
