Beaumont Hospital adopts the National Pregnancy Guidelines for Patients of childbearing years undergoing Radiology exams - Information for Referrers

Thursday May 23, 2019

Beaumont Hospital’s Radiology Department through the Radiation Safety Committee is adopting the National Pregnancy Policy. This policy was developed to standardised actions in the management of female patients of child bearing capacity (12-55 years old) presenting for a medical radiation exposure between the diaphragm and symphisis pubis and any Radionuclide imaging procedure.

This policy has been endorsed by professional bodies that composed the National Pregnancy Policy working group that have initiated this project: The Irish Institute of Radiographers and Radiation Therapist, The Irish Physicist Association in Medicine and the faculty of Radiologist.
