Tuesday April 26, 2016

The 35th Annual International Nursing and Midwifery Research and Education Conference took place in the RCSI recently. More than 200 nurses and midwives attended the event to discuss the latest developments in modern nursing. Speakers from Ireland, the USA, Canada, the UK, Australia and the Middle East spoke on topics such as older person care, mental health and disability nursing, cancer care, neonatal and children’s nursing, and caring and compassion in nursing and midwifery.

Beaumont was well represented at the event with Harvey McDonnell (Coronary Care Course Coordinator) and Caoimhe Finn (Infection Prevention & Control) delivering oral presentations on the topics of flexible approaches to postgraduate education and hand hygiene audits. A wide variety of posters were also on display from Beaumont Hospital staff demonstrating just a fraction of the innovative approaches to care adopted by our nurses.
