Patients 'Honour their Healthcare Hero's at Beaumont Hospital
Friday August 28, 2015
Former patients of Beaumont Hospital returned to the Hospital yesterday (27th August) for the annual Honour your Heros reception, now in its fourth year, at which patients pass on thanks and appreciation to members of hospital staff whom they believe went that extra mile in helping them regain their health and wellbeing.
Honour your Heros is an in-hospital staff recognition and fundraising programme which allows patients to pass on a message of appreciation to a Hospital staff member, or team, in thanks for the care they, or a loved one has received while in the Hospital. These messages are displayed around the Hospital for staff, patients and the public to read, In addition, voluntary donations can be made to Beaumont Foundation to fund equipment and patient comforts which help to make the Hospital better for patients and their families.
The reception which was held yesterday and MCd by RTEs Marty Whelan, highlighted a number of the many healthcare successes brought about by the staff working in the Hospital. Each patient spoke briefly about the circumstances that brought them into the care of the hospital and nominated an individual or team of their choice to receive the award.
