On June 11th, Aíne Brady, TD, Minister for Older People and Health Promotion, officially opened the new Supportive Heart Unit, which has dramatically reduced re-admission rates for patients over the past two years. Within the first year re-admission rates were reduced by 81% and only 12 % of patients were re-admitted in the second year, resulting in significantly enhanced quality of life for those patients
