Infection Control Procedures in Beaumont Hospital
Thursday March 26, 2020
Beaumont Hospital has strict tried and tested infection control guidelines in place for patients with suspected/confirmed cases of Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) and these guidelines are adapted in line with evolving national and international information and advice.
Responsible hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette helps to stop the spread of viruses. Although we have instigated a No Visiting Order, if you are a permitted visitor or a patient, please ensure you have:
- Properly washed your hands before arriving at the hospital and please use the hand hygiene gel provided at our main entrances on arrival and exit from the hospital.
- Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough and sneeze, put used tissues into a bin and wash your hands afterwards.
If you have been to an area with confirmed COVID-19 and are experiencing symptoms including cough, shortness of breath, breathing difficulties and a high temperature, please do not visit Beaumont Hospital or attend the Emergency Department. Please contact your GP by telephone if you require medical assistance.
