2nd Annual Cardiology Conference - Nov 9th

2nd Annual Beaumont Hospital Cardiology Conference took place on Saturday 9th November. This Conference provided an opportunity for Nurses, NCHDs. Cardiac Physiologists,, Paramedics and other Health Care Professionals to learn, engage and discuss a wide range of Cardiology Topics delivered by expert speakers from all fields within Cardiology. The Conference saw speakers and Attendees from all parts of Ireland. We especially would like to thank all those in the Cardiology Nursing Department and Centre of Education Team for their continued help and support with the organising of this Conference. Ms Karen Greene opened the day, followed by Professor Richard Sheehan, Consultant Cardiologist, David Farrell Clinical Research Nurse Co-Ordinator and the first session ended with Dr Karl Boyle, Stroke Consultant. The next session had two streams, Emergency Cardiology And Heart Failure. These streams included talks by Sinead O’ Neill Senior Cardiac Physiologist, Paul Stoneman Emergency Cardiology ANP, and Fiona Colbert Emergency Cardiology ANP, Mairead Lehane Cardiac rehab/Heart Failure CNS from Mallow, Laura O’Connor Heart Failure CNS and Tara Mannion Heart Failure ANP. The afternoon session saw three guests speakers, Dr Gerald Giblin, Cardiology Fellow, Ken Maleady Emergency Cardiology ANP, Connolly Hospital and Nina Murphy, Medtronic. The conference was enjoyed by over 100 attendees and was a wonderful opportunity to network with Colleagues from around the country. Sincere thanks to all involved and we look forward to next year.
