10,000 'Happy Hearts' for Beaumont Cardiac Rehabilitation Department

Congratulations to Cardiac Rehab Department who recently celebrated treating their 10,000th patient.
Cardiac Rehab Beaumont opened in November 1987, and has developed into a multi disciplinary evidenced based programme that caters for all cardiac patients including the most complex as well as providing a dedicated heart failure service. The comprehensive programme incorporates physical, psychological, pharmacological and dietary services as well as an established weekly outpatient clinic.
Beaumont Hospital Cardiac Rehab Co-ordinators provide a Phase 1 inpatient pre discharge visit that includes information on discharge, diagnosis, risk factor modification and recovery. For many years, Beaumont Hospital Cardiac Rehab Unit, in collaboration with the RCSI, were involved in training health professionals to Masters level in Cardiac Rehabilitation. 2017 saw the unit awarded “ Rehab Clinic of the Year” at the Irish Healthcare Centre Awards & also the award for” Excellence in Health Care Management” by the Irish Health Care Awards.
Research and development continue to be foremost within the department and the unit is involved in many research projects which have been both published and presented at conferences.
Beaumont Cardiac Rehab unit would like to extend their gratitude to all patients and professionals who have contributed to developing our centre of excellence.
