About us

Welcome to Beaumont Hospital Department of Nursing Website.

Beaumont Hospital is one of the country's largest acute teaching hospitals, catering for patients in all specialities. In addition to meeting the needs of a large population in North Dublin and its environs, Beaumont Hospital provides national and regional specialities. It is the National Referral Centre for Cochlear Implantation, Neurosciences, Renal and Pancreatic transplantation.

In the area of cancer treatment, Beaumont Hospital is one of the eight hospitals identified as having the established expertise and scale to be further developed as a centre of excellence.

It has been selected as a future centre for radiotherapy and it currently is expanding its Symptomatic Breast Disease Service.

The Department of Nursing, with a multinational staff of over 1100 highly skilled nurses and trained care assistants, plays a central role in the delivery of quality care to approx 21,000 inpatients and 36,000 day cases annually in partnership within the increasingly multidisciplinary environment of Beaumont Hospital.

The Department of Nursing has a wide range of professional opportunities for Staff Nurses, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Clinical Nurse Managers and Advanced Nurse Practitioners.

Nursing Philosophy

The Philosophy ensures that Nursing is committed to providing holistic patient-centred care to the highest possible standard in partnership within the interdisciplinary team.

Patients are supported and cared for in an open, welcoming and safe environment, where unconditional respect for patients, family members and staff as individuals is a valued premise.

Structure

The Department of Nursing is managed by the Director of Nursing, Ms Marie Murray, who manages and is accountable at executive level for the total nursing services of the Hospital, including St Josephs Hospital, Raheny and the Raheny Community Nursing Unit.
