Where to check in
On arrival to St. Finbar's day ward, please proceed to the end of the ward and check-in at the reception desk. Look for the sign for reception. If possible, please ensure you bring details of your health insurance with you and show it to the receptionist. Please bring any relevant scans (x- rays etc) that you may have had taken prior to you arrival.
After you check in
Once you’ve checked-in, a nurse will bring you into the ward where you will be allocated a bed or a chair. You will have one small locker so only bring what you need. You will be given a gown to wear so we advise you to bring only necessary clothing, such as, dressing gown, slippers, etc. Please do not bring any valuables with you as we cannot take responsibility for any lost or stolen items.
A nurse will then prepare you for your procedure. A doctor will also meet you to discuss your procedure. You may have to go for certain tests on the day, i.e. x-ray etc. Once you are ready, a porter will bring you to theatre.
