Visiting Restrictions Extended

Thursday October 04, 2012

Beaumont Hospital this afternoon imposed a ban on normal visiting in response to the continuing outbreak of Norovirus (SRSV) in the Hospital.

No visitors are now allowed with the exception of those visiting critically ill patients. Beaumont is appealing to the public for their support in observing this rule. Visitors, unwittingly, carry the bug through the hospital and into public places. The visiting ban will prevent the virus from travelling through the hospital and will protect visitors themselves from contracting the virus and potentially spreading it though their homes and workplaces.

Essential visits and visits to those who are critically ill may only take place between 2 pm and 4 pm and between 6 pm and 8 pm with only one visitor allowed per patient. Children are not permitted to visit in any circumstances.

Beaumont Hospital would like to thank members of the public in advance for their cooperation with regard to visiting restrictions.
