Beaumont Hospital has introduced new guidelines for friends and relatives visiting patients in the Emergency Department.
Visits are allowed between the hours of 2 pm to 3 pm and 7 pm to 8 pm. Only one visitor per patient is permitted at any one time and no children under 14 years of age will be admitted.
Exceptions to these guidelines on compassionate grounds will be strictly at the discretion of senior nursing staff on duty.
These guidelines come into effect from Wednesday 22 September and are designed to enable staff to enhance the overall quality of patient care.
