We are removing the fax machines around the hospital effective Wed May 2nd, to comply with GDPR obligations which come into force later this month.
We are putting in place processes to encourage our referrers and staff to use electronic communications to communicate patient and other business information.
For staff we have installed two centralised scanning stations who need to scan paper copies of notes etc to send out to our referrers.
For referrers, we have asked each department to let external agencies/referrers that they communicate with know about this change. They in turn need to put in place their own arrangements if they normally fax into the hospital and begin to use the email addresses for referring patients - please see HERE. We will update this list regularly as more email contacts are set up
